Overview & Rationale
It is everyone's responsibility to know copyright laws and how fair use policies apply to the classroom. Teachers must model appropriate behaviors for children, who often are not aware of the consequences of stealing intellectual property. Now with the internet opening the doors to the classroom to the wider world, educators must be made aware that their use of copyrighted materials is more visible to the general public. In order to avoid any potential litigation, it is important to understand and follow the rules.
